Description: Our traditional hurdles are made from “green”
willow harvested from our own willow beds,
which we cut from December to February. After cutting, the “green”
willow has to mellow for several weeks before it can be used and
usually the hurdles are available from mid January through to April,
but there may be some fluctuation due to seasonal weather variations.
The standard width of the hurdles is 6ft and they
can be made in any height from 2ft up to 4ft.
Prices for the standard sizes are:
6ft wide x 2ft high - £23.00
6ft wide x 3ft high - £35.00
6ft wide x 4ft high - £47.00
We try to accommodate customers “one off”
designs and are happy to discuss your requirements. These one off
hurdles are individually priced.

Things to look out for when
buying hurdles: Few hurdles are as well made as ours.
Hurdles should be straight and true.
(Sides should be straight and not wander in or out on the way up).
The number of twists along each side should be sufficient to hold
the hurdle secure. Hurdles that only have twists at the bottom and
top should be avoided’
After purchase non treated hurdles can be treated with a preservative,
this will increase their lifespan.
The exception to this rule is when hurdles are put along a newly
planted hedge line and are intended to gradually rot away as the
hedge grows.
